JPAC Midwest Showdown 2017
Midwest Showdown was this weekend, but I could only participate on 2 events because I hurt my thumb the week before. I ended up breaking it. 😞
The team started on vault. I helped with the mats and cheered the girls on.
Then, we rotated on to bars. Again, I helped with mats, moving the boards for board mounts, and cheering my team on.
Next, we moved to beam. I did a no hand beam routine with my flight as a front aerial back tuck. I stayed on the beam and scored a 9.175. Not too bad for practicing a whole new routine in just three days!
Lastly, floor. I used one of my arms in one of my tumbling passes. I did my front double as my first pass, one-arm roundoff 1 1/2 front pike, and a front layout front full as my last pass. I scored a 9.425. There was a three way tie for first place on floor, but I placed third since I only competed two events.
I had a pretty good meet. I wish I could've competed all four events, but things happen for a reason. I was also happy to contribute my floor score to help CGA take home the gold.

Buckeye Classic 2017
We started on Beam. I had a pretty solid warm up. I was second to compete. I hit my routine and scored a 9.350.
Next, we went to floor. It was not my best performance, I fell on my front double and scored an 8.300.
Then, vault. I competed my full at this meet. I was successful and scored a 9.450. I placed 5th on vault.
Lastly, we went to bars. I was third to compete, I had a great warmup and I felt very confident. As I do my cast handstand I tip over the bar. I was frustrated but I took a deep breath and finished my routine. I scored an 8.550.
This was obviously not a very good meet for me, but everyone has some good meets and everyone has some bad ones. I am not going to let this affect me because I know for a fact, I will have better meets.

CGA Coaches Spectacular 2017
We started on Vault, I was competing a yurchenko full at this meet. I was nervous, but I had done it enough times to know that I could do it. I ran down the runway and twisted as I came off the table. I stood up my first full during the warm up. Then, I was even more excited so I went with more power for the competition vault. I scored a 9.325. I was very pleased.
Next, Bars. I had a pretty good warm up. I was second to compete; I raised my hands and saluted. I did a pretty good bar routine. I scored a 9.100. I was pleased with my bar score.
Beam was next. I had a shaky warm up, but I kept telling myself that it was only warm up. I took a breath and stepped up to the beam. I took a wobble on my flight, but I recovered throughout the rest of the routine. I scored 9.275. I wasn't very happy with my beam score, but I left that behind because now it was time for floor.
I had a great warm up. I was really bouncy. I was second to last to compete, I walked over to the corner and hit my starting position. I was pumped up during my routine, until I stepped with the wrong foot into my double back. I touched the floor with my hand, so it counted as a fall. I was upset and wasn't thinking straight so instead of doing a front double as my second pass, I did a rudi. I had to finish strong so I did a powerful front layout front full. I scored an 8.600. I was not happy.
I placed 5th on Vault, 6th on Bars, 5th on Beam, and 6th All Around. I had a pretty decent meet, but I am going to work towards having an even better meet at Buckeye.

Rock n' Roll Twistars Invitational 2017
Yesterday was my first meet of the season. I was excited, yet nervous but I knew I was prepared and ready to compete. I had a great meet and placed 3rd all around and on Team Awards, CGA got second. Let me tell you a little bit about my meet.
My group started on Bars. I didn't have the best warm-up on bars but I didn't let it affect me. I did my bar routine and scored an 8.950. I wasn't satisfied with my score, but I didn't let it ruin my meet.
Next we went to Beam. I had a great warm-up and was very confident to show my routine. I took a deep breath and raised my hands to salute. I did a great beam routine; I was waiting for my score, but it never showed up. I had to forget about beam and focuss on floor.
The floor was bouncy, I liked it. I had a great warm-up and was ready to compete. I saluted and took my place on the floor. I did a high double back, but took a step forward. I ran into my front double and stuck it cold. Then, I finished strong with a great front layout front full.
On vault, I had a weird warm-up. My steps were off, but I figured them out after a couple vaults. I did two layouts on vault. My first layout was high and I almost stuck the landing. My second layout wasn't as good as the first one.
After everyone was done competing, we walked over to the award session. On Vault, I got a 9.275 and I placed 7th. On Bars, I scored and 8.950 and placed 6th. On Beam, I scored a 9.525 and placed 3rd, and on Floor, I scored 9.500 and placed 4th. My overall score was 37.250 and placed 3rd.
